As we are entering alert 4 in New Zealand, I was hoping to share with you the ideas behind this video in a simple question and answer form and why it works so well for branding yourself as a personality and as a business. If you got some more questions in this relative topic you are welcome to share them in the comments.

Personal branding has been a well off discussed topic by many and shouldn’t be skipped if you want to have a successful business long term.

It is highly trending today and there are many perspectives to what is the best way to create the perfect personal brand for yourself and your business.

So instead of adding more input on personal brand I would like to share with how I came up with what I think is the perfect branding video that helped me to reach more customers, so you could benefit from a fresh perspective on branding to better promote yourself and your business in today’s time.

So before we dive in into this with a question and answer order, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Rocky Gold and I consider New Zealand as My home now, and visiting here first pretty much evoked my exploration adventures. I was born in Lithuania in eastern Europe and on my 3rd grade I kept drawing until my classmates lined up to receive their most wanted paintings and even waited after school hours so I can finish their art. Since then, and fast forward to adult life circa today, my passion for Visual arts such as Videography and photography or just appreciating art and beauty has been derived from influences in the Marketing and advertising, travelling inspirations and of course the excitement of waking up in the morning can’t wait for my day to start and asking how can dreams be made for others. I founded @Goldmedianz so I could make my creative pursuits onto successes for other people and help businesses, therefore its main focus is helping people to brand themselves in today’s time with video and photography with the Gold standard.

Q&A —I thought that being straightforward and preparing a question and answer method will best serve everyone with understanding of how the above video came about and still have me staying focused on the topic instead of writing a longer story version. So let’s begin.

  1. How did you came up with the ideas for the scenes in this video and how long have you been planning to do this kind of video ?

The ideas for this video didn’t actually all came out at once during a morning run, but are more like a few ideas that have been gathering there for a while after few inspirations stroke in. For example, one idea comes a long in the shower, and the other while I am driving home after doing groceries and yet third one drops in my thought while I am filming client work on site. Truth to be told, at the mountains overlooking the city scene in this video, was something I’ve had in mind for one of my clients but then we eventually ended up deciding to do something else instead so hey — still gotta do the skyline with mountain scene.

This idea of running with a jumper and looking towards the city skyline has been always sitting at the back of my head after the inspiration for it has been always popping in when I was out and about or even when on evening walks for reflection purposes. It’s like “hey I come here often, then why not to make a filmed scene out of it” kinda feeling. I always wanted to film it, it just that I haven’t made a plan for it yet back then. Like for example now, it is serving a purpose — promoting my business services so I could be of service to local businesses who require promoting with video and photography.

“Truth to be told the mountains overlooking the city scene in this video is something I’ve had in mind for one of my clients”

2. What is the purpose of this video and why did you choose yourself to be the main actor/protagonist shown in this way?

The purpose of this video was about doing something for them and not for me. This time, I really wanted to take out of focus the things that I love to film and create, and instead, refocus on something that my audience would like to see, to hear, to understand.

Moreover, to bring value for them as much as possible and also for the actual video to be enjoyable for them while they watch it briefly.

The everyday business owner, and the today’s potential consumer prefers to spend less time when it comes to watching a video clip on their mobile, Therefore, the scenes and video length had to be timed appropriately, yet still engaging enough to invite the viewer to keep watching it further and learn the punchline of the video which is the actual promotion of brand videography and photography services.

3. Can you elaborate further when you say “for them” but you actually still using “yourself” as the character in this video ?

When we observe at the confidence that the character exudes in this video while walking in the “Concrete Jungle” of Auckland CBD followed up with powerful movement sounds ( you can actually hear them if you watch the video again with stereo earphones/headphones)and later all throughout the mountain hilltop overlooking the city skyline with hope, then, phone rings in both scenes offering the chance of successful business, we can find an underlying message that brings us closer to the real purpose of this video.

“some people who appear confident can transfer the appearance of it towards others with inspiration”

Often times some people who appear confident can transfer the appearance of it towards others with inspiration, and we can mirror ourselves when we look into others and pick the things we like and discard the things we don’t when we see how people behave, the way they carry themselves and the expressions they make. The way I look at it from my perspective, people gravitate towards confidence and it is a big motivator for such examples like: to making someone a business partner, marrying a husband or a wife, seeing a father or a mother as role models.

Brand Loyalty is also bought with confidence. Products are bought with confidence. The way a child looks at their confident father and wants to be like them, a mother who inspires her daughter to go for the things her daughter really wants and cares about. Confidence is there to lift others and eventually causing us to want more of our lives and to create more of ourselves.

When they look at me, they don’t see me — They see themselves. They are capable and able of doing amazing things. And that is the purpose of this video.
