If brand awareness is important for you and your business probably already figured a a few things like putting new content and others that work well, But this time I wanted to share with you something that you can take away and apply today to start reaping more brand awareness and start by bouncing with it today.

So, let’s say you are in a business of selling products for people or want to people to consider you more often than the competition, the other brand — not your enemy, but let’s face it their brand is so much cooler than yours and even you wanna buy their product! Hey, it’s normal and some are good with doing brand stuff but here we are focusing on helping you do your brand stuff great and so let’s go back for a second, I was only trying to have fun and get your attention, but now let’s focus on what makes people wanna buy things from other people. The answer, is other people. Simply put, but not really simple to apply.

So in order to understand what makes us want something else because it’s so good, I want to share with you an inspiring example from a neuroscience perspective when looking at brain parts and what triggers us to give attention to something that in front of us. The brain has a part called ‘Fusiform Gyrus’ and it’s purpose to help us distinguish the difference between a living organism such as human being and not a living one, such as a chair, a table, a bottle of water and so on. So, when a new born baby is laying down in his bed, and there’s no parent present, she is focused on gazing and doing her own thing, perhaps looking at the ceiling or at some colourful stars that that project from a nearby lamp, however, if the baby’s mother now enters the room, notice how she turns her head over to mommy and now she is more engaged and will keep looking at mother for the time that mother is still present in the baby’s room.

Thanks to the Fusiform Gyrus in our brain that allows the baby and us as people to distinguish between mother and a chair to put it in words.

The observation when it comes to branding and showing products per say, it is mentioned that if you are going to have a person on your picture frame or a video presentation, then, the chances are that you are going to have more views and more engagement with what it is that you are selling and presenting to your audience. Because, when there is a person that is shown, we seem to look at it more and we want to give it a few more seconds of attention.

For that reason, we see a lot of models appearing in videos and photography. For the same reason there are also more time and price involved when there are professional models who are doing photoshoots and act in video. These shots are guaranteed to sell, and we are always are going to buy.

Tips for getting more brand awareness with your videos:

  1.   3. Use your staff to represent your business, products and offerings. Today, a lot of people are outgoing when it comes to taking photos and videos and giving that opportunity for a staff member to rep your brand in videos is a wonderful exchange for everyone. The staff are motivated to make something cool with the brand and you get to polish your marketing with the next video where your staff can show how you service your customers, a day in the office and a day in a life videos and more of what your customers want to see — show them who are the faces behind your brand to create a community of followers that can get you recommendations later.
